Hey, hi, howdy! Welcome back to another delicious edition of Sunday Supper. Each week, this post gives me an opportunity to share some delicious recipes with you that you might have forgotten about and to catch you up on what’s been happening in our world. Let’s jump in…
I started the week in Dothan and Headland, Alabama as a part of the Alabama Peanut Producers Association’s Alabama Farm-to-Table Peanut Harvest Tour. We got the opportunity to get in the fields and learn about the peanut growing and harvesting processes and got to meet many of that famers who help to put delicious peanuts on your table. I was surprised to learn that nearly half of the peanuts grown in the United States are grown within a hundred mile radius of Dothan, Alabama. That’s why they call themselves the peanut capital of the world! We even got to visit downtown Enterprise, Alabama to see the boll weevil monument – and I’m not kidding! It’s the only monument dedicated to a pest. It was that pest that destroyed most of the cotton crops in the south and forced them to seek out other crops, like peanuts!
Back at home, things are progressing along at Chinaberry. Siding and plumbing is continuing and with a stretch of about a week with no rain, we hope to see even more progress this coming week.
For the past few days we’ve had overnight temps in the low 50s, so I’m craving soup! But not just any ol’ soup… Taco Soup! This is usually the first soup I make when the cool weather rolls in. It’s as easy as browning some ground beef and opening some cans, but it tastes like so much more! I like it best served with rice, but know many folks who enjoy Fritos corn chips with it.
Of course, cornbread would be a great complement, too! So I’m sharing my Cheddar Jalapeรฑo Cornbread Drop Biscuits. This recipe is an amalgamation of easy drop biscuits with the flavor and texture of cornbread with some cheddar and jalapeรฑo thrown in, too!
And that fall weather has me switching gears to apple and pumpkin flavored desserts, so I’m sharing my Easy Caramel Pumpkin Crumb Cake. That streusel on the top is my favorite part! This dish is also great served for breakfast!
Speaking of pumpkin, check out these Pumpkin Cream Cheese Swirl Muffins from Jessica over at The Novice Chef. Her photo of this dish stopped me mid-scroll this week and I’m sure they taste just as good as they look!
This week’s inspiration is brought to you by a meme I saw on Facebook. I’ll let it speak for itself.
Y’all have a great one, friends!

Stacey, with all the goings-on there with family and construction, I don’t know where your energy comes from to supply us with luscious recipes, much less cook them. But bless you for doing it anyway!
