Hey, y’all! Thanks for joining me back here at Sunday Supper! Each week, this little space gives me a chance to visit with y’all and maybe share a little recipe inspiration, too. Welcome back!
It was another quiet week around the Little household. Those kinds of weeks are my favorite. Jack played his last football game as a 7th grader and had an absolute blast. Being that this was his first time playing football, he didn’t get tons of play time this season, but spent nearly half of this last game on the field, so he was super excited. I wasn’t really sure how well I’d do as a football parent, but I think I’ve settled into the role quite nicely. I’ll miss these games for sure.
On the blog this week, I shared my Easy Cake Mix Cookie Bars and these Shortcut Caramel Pecan Cinnamon Rolls. I realize I’m partial, but I really think you need both of these things in your life.
Over at the Chinaberry House things are still chugging right along. The electricians have been there again this week getting things wired and we hope to start the insulation within the next few weeks. I posted some Instagram Stories with updates this week and pinned them to the Chinaberry highlight on my profile. You can check them out here.
This week I’m sharing a complete meal with y’all that it is sure to be one of those stick-to-your-ribs kinds of meals we all need every now and then.
We’ll start with my Ultimate Classic Meatloaf. This is a staple at our house. When I make meatloaf, I normally do it on Sunday, that way I can have leftover meatloaf sandwiches for lunch during the week. And let’s be honest… that’s the real reason I make meatloaf altogether. Meatloaf sandwiches are my absolute favorite!
My family demands (and I do, too) that mashed potatoes must accompany meatloaf, so I’ll be making my recipe for my Mom’s Secret Ingredient Mashed Potatoes as well.
And my “something green” for this meal is going to be these Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Mushrooms. I’ll eat Brussels sprouts just about any way, but roasted is my favorite. Even if you’ve not been a big fan of the little cruciferous veggie in the past, I urge you to try them roasted if you haven’t. Heather and Jack both disliked them until they tried them this way. And if you’re not a mushroom fan, you can simply leave them out.
Scrolling through Facebook this week, these Flourless Chocolate Fudge Marshmallow Cookies from The Novice Chef sure got my attention. With only 7 ingredients, I know these little morsels of deliciousness are in my future!
As we look toward a new week, I want to remind you that you don’t have to attend every argument you’re invited to. The days ahead are sure to bring challenges where you feel that you must speak up. Now, I would never encourage you to not stand up for what’s right, but I still think many things are better left unsaid. Some arguments aren’t wroth having. It’s not always about being right or having the last word. Sometimes your peace is worth way more than being right. Y’all have a great one!
