Hey, y’all! Welcome back to another delicious edition of Sunday Supper!
Things were super quiet around the Little House this week. Jack was gone to church camp and it was the first time he’s ever been away from us for that long without a close family member with him. We sure did miss him and it made us appreciate all those “hey, mom”s and “hey, dad”s that normally drive us crazy.
Framing began this week on the Chinaberry House and it still doesn’t seem real. We’ve worked, and saved, and planned for years to get to this point and it just honestly doesn’t feel like it’s really happening. We finalized our choices for plumbing fixtures this week and have narrowed our selection for shingles down to two colors. I’m planning to get a huge update post up next week to give you all the details.
Homemade Sloppy Joes are one of Jack’s favorite meals so I put them on the menu for this week and will serve them alongside some tater tots and my Dill Pickle Coleslaw. For dessert, I’m going to make my Strawberry Chess Bars. Heather hosted a baby shower for her cousin this weekend and we’ve got a few leftovers – including some strawberries. So they’ll be perfect in these.
And y’all scroll on down and see the crazy delicious looking recipe that caught my eye this week. I’ve already got dessert planned, but this Mississippi Mud Pie from The Stay at Home Chef WILL happen soon. It looks absolutely decadent!
Y’all have a great week, friends!
Ditch the can of sauce and make these Homemade Sloppy Joes from scratch! You're family will thank you for it. They're so easy, quick, and you can adjust the seasoning to suit your tastes - making them perfect for the picky easters in your family, too!
Y'all know I'm a big pickle fan and this Dill Pickle Coleslaw might be my favorite colelsaw ever! It's got tons of pickle flavor and is a perfect complement to the sloppy joes.
These Strawberry Chess Bars start with a cake mix but easily turn into so much more. If you love gooey butter cake, you're going to love this strawberry twist.
This recipe caught my eye this week...
I was craving something chocolate the other day when I stumbled upon this Mississippi Mud Pie from The Stay at Home Chef. I was gobsmacked! I mean - just look at it! It's got a chocolate cookie crust that is topped with a fudgy cake layer, chocolate streusel, and chocolate ganache! This is a chocolate lover's dream for sure!
