Turn simple Nutter Butter cookies into fun, spooky Nutter Butter Mummies with just a few ingredients! These easy, no-bake Halloween treats are perfect for parties or a sweet holiday surprise.
Not only are these little Nutter Butter Mummies festive and fun, but they are incredibly easy, too! All you need is a package of Nutter Butter cookies, a package of white almond bark, and some candy eyes or chocolate chips and you’ll have some neat treats for your little ghosts and goblins in no time.
This is a great recipe to get the kids involved with, too!
What about the eyes?
You need to give your mummies some eyes. I used these neat Wilton Candy Eyeballs that can be found in most hobby and craft stores (including Walmart), but you can also use mini chocolate chips.
What is almond bark?
Almond bark is a sweet candy coating made from vegetable fats, sugar, and some flavoring like vanilla or chocolate. Funny enough, it doesnโt have almonds in it at all! It melts super easily, which makes it perfect for dipping pretzels, nuts, or these Nutter Butter cookies without the hassle of messing with real chocolate. Itโs a go-to for quick and easy treats, especially during the holidays.
In the store, you’re likely to find 2 different types of coating candy: almond bark, candy coating, and candy melts. While any of these will work, the almond bark and candy coating will work best. The candy melts harden very quickly and that can make getting all the cookies coated a challenge.
Can I use a different kind of cookies?
Absolutely! You can swap out Nutter Butters for pretty much any cookie you like in these mummy treats. Vienna Fingers, Milano cookies, or even graham crackers would work great. The fun part is decorating them like mummies, so as long as the cookies are sturdy enough to hold the melted chocolate or almond bark, you’re good to go. Just get creative!

Nutter Butter Mummies
Ingredients
- 1 (16-ounce) package Nutter Butter Cookies
- 1 (24-ounce) package white chocolate almond bark candy coating
- 1 package candy eyeballs (or mini chocolate chips)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, melt 3/4 of the almond bark in the microwave according to the package instructions.
- Dip each Nutter Butter in the bark to coat it and then shake off any excess. Place the coated cookies on wax paper or parchment paper. Repeat until all the cookies are coated.
- Add the eyes (or chocolate chips) to each mummy while the almond bark is still soft.
- Add the remaining bark to a clean bowl and melt it according to the package instructions. Transfer the melted bark to a disposable piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip the very tip or corner off of the bag and drizzle the melted bark over the cookies to look like the mummy's wrapping. Allow the bark to harden completely before removing the cookies from the wax paper and removing the excess bark from the sides.

I’d like to make these for a party. How far in advance could these be made and still good?
Stacey

These are very cute. How did you get them to stand up for the group photo?
Stacey
LOL! I just threatened to unwrap them. ๐ No, I used some toothpicks and a piece of foam core underneath.
