Summer’s here and the kiddos will need plenty to keep them cool in the heat.  But just as you might like something a little fun and fruity to sip on, they probably do too!  Run by Walmart and grab some 7UP® and the other ingredients to make these delicious kid-friendly cocktails.

Kids love having something bright and colorful to drink and these two recipes are sure to do the trick.  Jack loves both of them, but is especially fond of the Ocean Water.  I think it’s the bright blue color since that’s his favorite color… and there’s the gummy fish that’s fun and tasty too!  You have to admit.. it looks pretty cool, but it’s super easy to make.

The best part is that there are only a couple ingredients in each recipe and that you can grab everything you need for both of these recipes on your next Walmart trip.   That way you’ll have it on hand when the fun starts.  I like to buy the pineapple juice in the 6-pack of 6-ounce cans.  That way I can just use a little at a time without a big can going bad before I can use it all.  We always have 7UP on hand, so that’s never a problem.  And both recipes use 7UP because its a versatile carbonated drink that gives the perfect about a sweetness, flavor, and sparkle.  Kids just love the bubbles.

This Ocean Water has a bright blue color and is filled with fruit flavors.  7UP gives it the perfect amount of bubble and sparkle.  It’s super refreshing.  This one is also perfect for those summer beach and pool parties.  We did a big dispenser of this for Jack’s birthday party last year and everyone just loved it.

I like to serve these in a handled mason jar, but any tall glass will work just fine.  Even clear plastic cups work perfectly since they’re destined for little hands.

The Pineapple Sunrise has a punch of pineapple flavor, but is light and sweet.  It has the look of that classic tequila sunrise, but is totally family-friendly.  And getting that pretty grenadine layer on the bottom isn’t nearly as hard as it looks.  Since it’s heavier than the juice, it will sink right to the bottom when poured slowly.  And even if it doesn’t, it’ll taste just as delicious.

    Hi,
I go to a middle school in Vancouver BC and I’m in grade 7. For one of my courses, we are making cook books and my group was wondering if we could use this recipe?
    Thanks, Zoey

Was thinking it would be nice for grandkid’s birthday parties. However, we are allergic to fruit punch especially the blue one, and pineapple juice. Any suggestions? I was thinking a nectar in place of the pineapple juice. Thanks!

Stacey, love your articles and your recipes. I have a question. What is blue fruit punch? Is it pre-made in the refrigerated section? Is it kool-aid? I love the blue color that you produced. It looks so inviting.
