Hey, friends! Welcome back to another Sunday Supper!
Things were a little quiet on the blog front this week. Jack didn’t have football practice this week since it’s was the week of the 4th, so he and I took off to spend a few days on Alabama’s beautiful gulf coast for a boy’s trip. With him getting older, I’m not sure how much longer he’s going to want to spend time with his old man, so I’ve got to take advantage of the opportunities when I can! We enjoyed some great seafood and hit up what I’m sure is every single arcade in 3 counties! Have I told y’all about my obsession with skee-ball? ????
On the Chinaberry House front, we got the slabs poured this week and spent some more time trying to decide on plumbing fixtures. Selection is limited right now as many manufacturers are not producing their full lines due to the pandemic. We’re just trying to seek out our best options and it’s been a struggle. The builder says that he hopes we might get to start framing next week and we’re super excited about that. We can’t way to start seeing this thing go vertical!
I’m not sure if it’s all the grilling we did for the 4th or what, but I’m still in a grilling mood. So this week, we’re making my Alabama White BBQ Sauce Grilled Pork Tenderloin. This pork is marinated in white bbq sauce and then has more drizzled over it once it’s grilled to juicy perfection. Taking advantage of the grill already being on, we’re going to make my Twice Baked Potato Stuffed Peppers. These have all the great flavor of twice baked potatoes, but grilling that same filling in the peppers adds even more incredible flavor. Dessert is going to be my absolute favorite layered dessert – Oreo Delight. If my childhood had a flavor, I think it might be this. This was my favorite dessert and Mom always made it to celebrate life’s little successes.
If you’re looking for something a little different, this Baked Rigatoni from Semi Homemade Recipes might hit the spot. It’s got marinara and alfredo sauce in it so you know it’s going to be good! Scroll on down, friends…
This pork tenderloin is marinated in Alabama White BBQ Sauce, grilled to perfection, and then topped with even more white bbq sauce for tons of great flavor! The mayo in the sauce keeps the pork super juicy!
These Grilled Twice Baked Potato Stuffed Peppers might take a little extra work, but the flavors of this incredible recipe make it worth every second. This is, without a doubt, one of my most favorite summer time sides when I'm grilling.
Ever since I was a kid, this OREO Delight has been one of my favorite desserts! The cool creamy layers make it the perfect sweet treat for those hot summer days!
This recipe caught my eye this week...
This Baked Rigatoni from Angie over at Semi Homemade Recipes caught my eye this week for that lucisous looking sauce! Come to find out she's got some marinara sauce AND alfredo sauce in this recipe and I've just got to give this one a taste test!
Kathleen (Kathy) Rapagnani again. I hope I can live long enough to try all of your recipes!!! You are so enjoyable to listen to as well!!
Thanks so much, Kathy!
I enjoy your Southern recipes, Stacey. I am a fan of your cooking. I have to ask something. I lived in Iowa until 19 and as a teenager I worked with my sister in my Aunt’s flower shop/greenhouse. My family never ate out much as we had veggies and fruit from the gardens. At lunch, my sister and I would take a break from my Aunt’s greenhouses and went to a hole in the wall diner. It was take out only and I fell in love with a fried pork sandwich. It was tenderized and flattened out and so it spilled over the bun. It was breaded and so good. Do you have any recipe for something like this. You have a vast amount of recipes and I would like to try to duplicate this sandwich. I don’t know if it was a tenderloin or another pork part. I didn’t know what kind of breading was on it. Maybe just flour? Can you put a recipe on here for that? I think your creativity has no bounds. I am 71 now and that sandwich I haven’t eaten since I was 14 yrs old. Thanks! Love ya. Kathleen Rapagnani; email kaleen98@comcast.net
Thanks again, Kathy! I was lucky enough to experience a sandwich much like this at a diner in Indiana. It was made with pork tenderloin that was flattened out and was coated in panko brad crumbs. It was so delicious! I don’t have a recipe like that, but I’ll certainly make note of it for future recipes ideas!
I am new to your site but, ohh my! I’m in love with your recipes. They are so easy. Thank you for your hard work!
Thank you! Hope you find lots you enjoy!
