In today’s day and age, we can have pretty much anything we want year round. But the fact still remains that some things just taste better in the summer! Today’s post is celebrating five desserts that say, (actually scream), summer to me!ย The calendar might not say summer, but the temperatures here sure do!
Easy, No Churn Oreo Ice Creamย
Oreo ice cream is probably my favorite ice cream, andย this one is my favorite!ย It literally takes 15 minutes and is SO much easier than making it the old-fashioned way in the churn.
Just looking at this pie makes me feel like I’m on my back porch. In case you’re wondering, it is every bit as good as it looks, too!
Can you even have summer without banana pudding? Probably, but let’s not go there.
This Tres Leches Poke Cake brings all the flavors of tropical goodness to your plate in the form of a cool and creamy cake slice. Top it with your favorite fruit and you’ve got a vacation on your fork!
I can’t help but think of Strawberries multiple times when it comes to summer. This cool and light treatย is a showstopper at any get together!
Have you made any of the recipes featured here? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!ย
Stay cool, y’all!

Do you have a Peach Cobbler recipe where the crust or “dumplings” are “al dente” as in your Chicken and Dumplings? My Grandmother used to make both – she passed away and had always made them from memory. I have made both over the years but the never compared to hers. Your chicken & dumplings sounds like hers snd can’t wait to make it. Hoping you have the cobbler recipe as well. I also am ordering your book.
Hi Penny! My Peach Cobbler recipe is more cakey than what you’re looking for, but I’ll keep that in mind and see what I can find for you! Hope you’ll enjoy the Chicken and Dumplings! Thanks for getting the book, too! I appreciate your support more than you could know!
