This easy Marry Me Chicken Gnocchi combines tender chicken, pillowy gnocchi, sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmesan in a rich, creamy sauce. It’s a comforting one-pan supper that’s ready in just 30 minutes!

I’ve always loved the flavors of the internet-famous Marry Me Chicken, but I wanted a version that was a little easier to get on the table. So, I took all that creamy, garlicky goodness and turned it into this super simple Marry Me Chicken Gnocchi.
Instead of starting with raw chicken, we’re using shredded cooked chicken. And rather than cooking pasta separately, we’re using refrigerated gnocchi that cook right in the skillet. The result is a rich, comforting meal that tastes like you spent a whole lot more time making it than you actually did.
And the best part? It’s ready in about 30 minutes with just one pan to wash!
This is actually one of the recipes from my brand-new cookbook, Supper Made Simple, and I think it’s a perfect example of what the whole book is about.

A Little Taste of Supper Made Simple

My new cookbook, Supper Made Simple: 100 Recipes to Feed Your Family, comes out November 3, 2026, and I can’t wait for y’all to get your hands on it!
It’s packed with 100 approachable recipes designed to make getting supper on the table easier. No complicated techniques or expensive, hard-to-find ingredients. Just good food that works for busy families.
One thing I did differently was organize the recipes by protein. Because when I’m trying to figure out what’s for supper, I usually start by looking at what meat I’ve got in the fridge or freezer. Got chicken? Head to the chicken chapter. Ground beef? There’s a chapter for that, too.

Throughout the book, you’ll also find three special features designed to make supper even easier. Make It Simple offers shortcuts and time-saving tips. Make It Supper gives you ideas for rounding out the meal with sides. And Make It Special shares simple ways to dress things up a bit when you want to.
I’ve even included QR codes that link to helpful videos demonstrating some of the techniques. Sometimes it’s just easier to show you than try to explain it in words!
I’ve said it before, but I’m not trying to save the world. I’m just a guy from Alabama trying to save supper. And this book is my way of helping make that happen.

A Few Tips for the Best Marry Me Chicken Gnocchi
Brown the gnocchi first. Rather than boiling the gnocchi, I cook them in a little butter until they’re golden brown in spots. This adds flavor through the Maillard reaction (the same process that makes a good sear on a steak so delicious) and gives the gnocchi a slightly firmer exterior while keeping the inside soft and tender. They’ll finish cooking right in the sauce.
Use refrigerated gnocchi if possible. I prefer the flavor and texture of refrigerated gnocchi, but shelf-stable will work, too. Just add an extra ½ cup of water to the recipe to give them enough moisture to cook through.
Rotisserie chicken is your friend. This recipe calls for 3 to 4 cups of shredded cooked chicken, so a store-bought rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut. Leftover cooked chicken works just as well.
Have everything ready to go. This recipe moves quickly, so I recommend having all your ingredients prepped and measured before you start cooking.
Wait to add the salt. Between the Parmesan and chicken bouillon base, there’s already plenty of seasoning in the sauce. Taste it before adding additional salt.

What to Serve with Marry Me Chicken Gnocchi
This is one of those meals that doesn’t need much to round it out. Some roasted broccoli, steamed green beans, or a simple green salad kit would be perfect. And a little garlic bread never hurt anything, especially when there’s a creamy sauce involved.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with serving it straight from the skillet and calling supper done!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 12- to 16-ounce package refrigerated gnocchi
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes or more
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon base
- ½ cup julienned dry-packed sun-dried tomatoes
- 3 to 4 cups shredded cooked chicken
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- ¼ cup coarsely chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the gnocchi and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown in spots, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the crushed red pepper flakes, water, heavy cream, and chicken bouillon base. Stir to combine. Add the sun-dried tomatoes and chicken. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook, uncovered, until the liquid reduces by about a third, 6 to 8 minutes.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until combined. Add salt and black pepper to taste, if necessary. Stir in the basil and serve immediately.

Let’s Get Supper Back on the Table
I wrote Supper Made Simple because I believe some of the best moments happen around the supper table. And I know how hard it can be to get everybody there when life gets busy.
My hope is that these recipes will take a little of the stress out of figuring out what’s for supper and give you more time to enjoy the people sitting around the table.
I hope y’all enjoy this little sneak peek. There’s plenty more where this came from!
