Ingredients

– Unsalted butter – Cocoa powder – Vegetable oil – Eggs – Buttermilk – Vanilla extract

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in cocoa powder, oil, and water, then boil for 1 minute.

In a small bowl, mix eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Pour the hot cocoa mixture over the flour mixture, stir, then add the egg mixture and stir until combined.

Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35-45 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes before icing.

For the icing, melt butter with cocoa in a saucepan, stir in vanilla, then mix with powdered sugar and buttermilk until pourable. Spread icing over the cooled cake.
