Cream butter and brown sugar with a mixer, then add egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to butter mixture and mix on low.
Stir in oats, cherries, pecans, pistachios, and chocolate chips. Use a 1/4 cup to portion dough into 16-18 balls, place on sheet, flatten to 1 inch thick, and sprinkle with salt.
Bake 15-18 minutes until edges are brown and centers are shiny. Cool on sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
