Songbird Sweet Potato Skillet

  • 1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Martha White® All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans


  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 large egg


  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 2 (7 oz.) packages Martha White® Sweet Potato Muffin Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter


  • HEAT oven to 325ºF. Spray 10-inch round cast iron skillet or 9-inch square cake pan with
  • no-stick cooking spray.


  • STIR all topping ingredients together in small bowl until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.


  • BEAT cream cheese and sugar together in medium bowl until smooth. Add egg and beat
  • well.


  • STIR together all ingredients in medium bowl just until smooth. Pour into prepared
  • skillet. Spoon filling over batter. Swirl with knife bringing some batter to the top.
  • Sprinkle with topping.
  • BAKE 30 to 35 minutes or until light golden brown. Cook on wire rack. Serve warm or at
  • room temperature. Store in refrigerator.


Alternate ingredient: Martha White® Apple Cinnamon Flavored Muffin Mix or Martha White® Apple Cider Flavored Muffin Mix may be substituted for Martha White® Sweet Potato Flavored Muffin Mix
