Edible Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup unsalted better 1 stick, softened
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour* (see note)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


  • In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together then mix in the vanilla, flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Transfer to a sealable container and keep refrigerated.


*New evidence suggests that there may be risk involved with eating raw flour.  Heat treat your flour by spreading it on a silicone mat lined baking sheet and bake it in a 350°F preheated oven for 5 minutes.  Allow to cool before using in the recipe.
