Y’all, I’ll be honest with you. I got the okay from my editor earlier in the week to share the amazing cover artwork for our upcoming cookbook and I have been wracking my brain trying to come up with a fun way to reveal the cover to y’all. I had thought about creating some kind of fun little contest and hiding pieces of the cover art on the blog and have y’all click around trying to find the pieces and win prizes. But this morning, I had a change of heart. You know sometimes God puts something on your heart and you just have to go with it. I woke up this morning filled with gratitude. I try my best every single day to be grateful for all the wonderful things that I have in my life – an amazing family, a nice home, a great job – but sometimes it’s easy to breeze through the day without thinking about those things. We just take them for granted. As I was staring at my computer screen, looking at the amazing artwork that had been created for a book with my name on it, I was reminded that this book isn’t at all about Stacey Little. This book is about Peggi Anderson, and Elizabeth McKenzie, and Tina Koenig, and Susan Hatcher. It’s about Allyson Rose, Tom Miller, and Donna Mashburn, and ALL the thousands of folks that click back here everyday to see what I’m cooking up or going on about. I would have never been offered this opportunity without you all. I’m not Southern Bite… you are Southern Bite. Sure, I host the site and share the recipes, but without y’all, I’d just be some small-town, 31-year-old blogger posting stuff on some obscure site. You make Southern Bite a success. And I love y’all for it. Who knows where this all might go? Maybe this gets bigger, maybe it doesn’t. I don’t know. What I do know is this, I will be forever grateful to each and everyone one of you for whatever happens. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. My name may be on the cover, but this isn’t my book… this is OUR book.
So y’all ready to see the cover??? This isn’t the 100% absolute final as the food images at the bottom will change when we do the photos for the book, but the rest will stay the same. I would never liken this experience to the birth of my child, but opening the email the first time and seeing this was a close second. There’s a whole lot of love in this book. I can’t wait for y’all to get a chance to read it. I hope y’all love this cover as much as I do.
