On a recent trip to Tuscaloosa we decided to make a stop by the infamous Archibald’s. We had been told it was a shack, but boy we had no idea. It is literally a cement block shed behind somebody’s house. Walking in was even more of an experience for there was about enough room for four adults standing. It’s cash only. The limited menu included ribs, sliced pork, and white bread. The smell was amazing and I could wait to get a taste… and when I did, I swear I hear angels singing. It is, by far, the best barbecue I’ve EVER had. And that’s saying something. I could put their amazing vinegar based sauce on ice cream… well, maybe not on ice cream… but any meat for sure. It is out-of-this-world. They’ve been perfecting barbecue for nearly 50 years and boy do they have it. Completely no frills, but the best barbecue. Expect to see folks in limos, pick-up trucks, and pimped out rides alike. They all know where to get the good stuff!
