Fresh Cooks Live_Full Screen_This Week

When I started this blog back in 2009, I had no idea the amazing places it would take me or the amazing people it would allow me to meet.  In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined that it would give me the opportunity to write a cookbook.  And I never could have imagined that a day like today would ever happen in my life.  Today, the TODAY SHOW came to my house.  Seriously.  To. My. House.  I’m still in amazement.  Ever since I was offered the opportunity to write the book, I keep thinking I’m going to get a phone call and the person on the other end of the call would say, “Oh, I’m sorry.  Apparently we’ve got the wrong person.”  Today, I felt the same way.  But when the producer from the Today Show arrived (after flying all the way and renting a car to come to my house) she assured me that they had the right guy.  I’m still amazed.

All week this week, the Today Show is highlighting some of what they call “the internet’s hottest chefs” in a series called Fresh Cooks Live… and I’m one of them.  A few things here… to start, I am not a chef.  Number two – me?  A hot internet chef?  I think not.   Lord love a duck.  The only thing hot about me is… well, nothing.

Y’all, I am so honored and humbled to be included with these folks on this amazing series.  It is completely overwhelming to think that I’ll be flying to New York to appear in a 30 minute segment on the Today Show.

So here are the details… My segment will be Sunday, March 30th roughly around 8:30ET.  They will run an intro piece (that’s what we did today) and then I’ll be cooking live for the next 30 minutes.  They will be checking back in with me throughout the remainder of the show and you can watch the entire 30 minute segment streaming live online at Today.com.  Each day has a theme and my theme is Southern Sunday Brunch!  How fun?  I’ll be making my Shrimp and Grits from the book, a beautiful (and easy) Fresh Fruit Salad, and a super quick and easy Ham and Cheese Quiche.  You can even get the recipes now, have your ingredients ready, and cook along with me!

I would love for you to help me spread the word about the series.  Be sure to use the hashtag #freshcookslive when sharing.  Also be sure to follow me on social media to see the details and behind-the-scenes fun of my the trip to NYC.  Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Here’s the promo they put together for the series.  Can y’all believe I’m on a commercial for the Today Show?  Yeah, me either.  🙂

      • With Wings says:

Stacey, you did so good!!! You are a natural. Who knows, you may have your own cooking show one day??? Jeremiah 29:11

Our 8 year old granddaughter has been praying for a husband for her Mommy. And she also sat on Santa’s lap about 5 or 6 times and one of those times she asked him for a “Perfect” family. Can you imagine how he felt when he heard that request??? He told her she would have to wait till Christmas!!! Reminded everyone of the newer version of the movie, “”Miracle On 34th Street”.

Well, he came along on New Years Day!!! And when she was being thankful that he came along, she looked toward Heaven and said, “Thank you” to God. I am hoping that the Santa will still be there next year!!!

My-father-in-law was the one who told me about the old tent chairs I painted for our Christmas dinner table and that Billy Graham could have sat in one!!! (Tent chairs from shed) Well, I received another gift for the wedding, and it is some jars that must be at least 40 or 50 years old that I am decorating for the tables and they are from my mother-in-law.(Jars from old well house) And even though she has gone on to be with the Lord, our daughter’s Granny will have her presence there…along with God!!!

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter today…..God Bless Y’all!!!

        • OH, what a wonderful way to be able to include everyone in the wedding! Love all the details! Thanks for your note! May God Bless y’all and especially their marriage!

  13. You’ll do great in New York. None of the other Chefs appearing, have been there either. Your next call will be from the Food Network so, get ready!
