SouthernSlowCookerBibleAs a blogger, I get approached about doing cookbook reviews all the time.  So much so, that’ I’ve had to stop doing them in the interest of time.  But every now and then a book comes along that really gets my attention.  The Southern Slow Cooker Bible is one of those books.  I had been anticipating it’s arrival for quite some time.  It’s published by the same publisher, Thomas Nelson, that’s doing my book, so I knew it was in the pipeline.  Then, back in December, I got the chance to meet the author, Tammy Algood, and spend some time in her kitchen with her as we were working on a fun new Thomas Nelson project.  You know how sometimes you meet someone and you feel like you’ve know them your whole life?  Well, Tammy is that kind of person.  She is the most genuinely sweet, kind-hearted person.  This is her 4th cookbook, so she had lots of knowledge to share with me.  She was so supportive of me and my book, I knew I had to share her book with y’all based solely on the fact that she’s such an amazing person.  But then I got the book.  Lord have mercy!  Y’all this book is absolutely amazing!

Tammy is a walking, talking kitchen encyclopedia.  In fact, during the filming we started calling her “Cooking Yoda.”  If you have a question, she’s got an answer and she’s shared so much of that in her book.  From how to convert a traditional recipe to a slow cooker recipe to the best ways to maximize the use of your slow cooker, this book is slam-packed with info.  I also had the opportunity to taste several of the recipes in the book during the filming and they all were absolutely amazing.  I can’t wait to get some of these in my slow cooker.   It will certainly make you think beyond the traditional  roast and vegetables recipes that are common in your slow cooker.  From the Southern Pecan Cake and Chocolate Covered Cherry Bread Pudding to the Christmas Morning Brunch Casserole and the Macaroni and Pimento Cheese.  I mean come on… this book has 12 different recipes for grits… in the slow cooker!  Just amazing!

Not only is it filled with mouth-watering recipes, but the pictures are just as drool-worthy!  I know y’all will absolutely love this cookbook.  It will certainly make you rethink the way you use your slow cooker.

The super amazing folks at Thomas Nelson are going to give 3 of y’all a copy of this amazing book.  Simply see the giveaway box below for all the ways to enter.
