Okay, I’m just going to put it out there… I don’t like going to the movie theatre. No, in fact, I hate it. And like I always tell Jack, you should never say hate. But I do, I hate it. I’m not sure if it’s the $18 soda, the sticky floors, or what. And while I’m certain you’re thinking, “then, just don’t go,” there’s just one problem with that. Going to the movie theatre is one of my wife’s favorite things. So, a few times a year, I drag myself to the theatre just to be a good husband. Well, a few years ago, my movie theatre trips got a little bit better when my local theatre introduced me to Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasoning. Yep, you can add seasonings to your popcorn that range from cheddar cheese, Parmesan garlic, and ranch, just to name a few. The stuff is GREAT. I have the best time loading up my popcorn – experimenting with flavor combos. Now, the popcorn seasoning stand is like a shining beacon in the murkiness of movie theatre craziness. The best part is when I found out that I could buy the same seasonings at my local grocery store! It got even better a few weeks ago when I got a tweet from Kernel Season’s asking if I’d like to try some of their new flavors. They also asked if I’d be interested in developing a recipe using some of their seasonings in an unconventional way – you know, instead of just on popcorn. Y’all know I love a challenge, so I jumped at the chance. Well, after experimenting with a variety of the seasonings, I’m proud to show you what I’ve come up with… Salt and Vinegar Roasted Potatoes.
Yep, they have salt and vinegar seasoning for popcorn, but just wait to until you try it on roasted potatoes! Be sure to check out their website to see the huge selection of seasoning flavors and check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

What a great idea to use pop corn salt…will have to try this! Blessings, K
OMG my husband and daughter love Kernel Seasons on homemade popcorn, I have never thought to use it on anything else. Thanks for the idea
Hi, did you only make them with the potatoes whole? I was wondering if it would get more flavoring if the potatoes were cut in half and/or quarters. Have you tried it cutting up the potatoes? What do you think? Thank you
All of the potatoes I used were small enough to not have to cut them. There should be no problem with using larger potatoes that are cut up.
A great idea! Sounds delicious!
That sounds interesting. I’ve done fingerling potatoes this way with salt & pepper and also with greek seasoning, but never thought of popcorn seasoning. (grin) Nice one.
Great recipe, Stacey! I’m with you on the disdain for going to the movies for all the reason you cited. You and I aren’t the only folks that feel this way, either. Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if some bloggers hosted a giveaway that included a DVD?
What a great idea! Maybe somebody will do that…
Don’t have Kernels seasoning here in New Zealand! What’s in it?
It’s powdered vinegar and salt. You could roast the potatoes and then toss them with a few tablespoons of white vinegar and some salt to get a similar flavor.
