Hey y’all! We had a blast last night venturing through the more than 8 million lights at Callaway Gardens. I’m not sure what it is about wasting all the electricity that gets you in the Christmas spirit, but it really does it for me. The highlight of the night was my little guy’s face when he called my attention and said, “Daddy, I love it!” It was awesome to see so many of you following our trip on Facebook and Twitter, too. We really had a blast with y’all tagging along!
You know, it wouldn’t be Christmas in the South without all those lights strewn from here to yonder. And though the folks at Callaway Gardens do an AMAZING job, not everyone is quite so talented when it comes to decking the halls. That’s where our next give-a-way comes in.
Send us your snapshots of Christmas lights in your neck of the woods, be them amazing, tacky, or unusual. Email your photos to info@southernbite.com for your chance to win a $75 Sears gift card (thanks to the folks at Sears Hometown Stores)! How awesome would that be?? You can buy yourself a great early Christmas present! You’ll have until Monday at noon central standard time to enter. You can also increase your chance of winning by scoring additional entries on Facebook and Twitter like this:

My daughter, age 29, has been going to Callaway to see the Christmas lights since she was 5 years old! I do not go anymore but she and her dad continue their tradition. She has come from Scotland, New York and now North Carolina to see them!
