Chick-fil-a has been generating quite a bit of hype about their new Spicy Chicken Sandwich (which officially debuts June 7th) and I had the opportunity to try the new sandwich ahead of the official launch next week.  I had to “reserve” as sandwich ahead of time and specify the restaurant location and time.  Unfortunately, I don’t think there are any more reservations available, but you won’t have long to wait.

So I moseyed on down to the Chick-fil-a today to check out the new grub.  Surprisingly, it was pretty good; a nice diversion from their regular menu.  The sandwich was crispy fried with a breading that was a lot brighter and bolder than it’s standard Classic sandwich cousin.  I had mine with the optional pepper jack cheese and lettuce, served on a buttered bun with pickles.  Y’all know me… I shy away from raw tomatoes at all cost.  I’ll eat them any day when they’re cooked, but not raw.  That’s really one of my only food hang-ups.  I’ll eat just about anything that won’t eat me first.  Okay, back to the sandwich…   It was tasty and crispy with what I think is the perfect amount of heat.  Trust me, if you don’t like hot food, you’ll probably want to shy away.  But for those of you who like a little spice, it’s a nice treat.  You might want something cool to wash it down too.  It’s not nuclear-hot-wings hot, but it does pack a little punch.  The pickles were a nice compliment to the bold flavor and I will admit I added a little mayo like any good Southern boy would do.

Overall I think it’s a great addition to the menu and I always enjoy the incredible hospitality at Chick-fil-a.  I don’t know of another fast-food joint that has better customer service.  So, come Monday, y’all need to run out and try one of their new Spicy Chicken Sandwiches.  YUM!
